The release of Eli Roth’s ‘The Green Inferno’ was put on hold back in August, much to the dismay of fans. Since then, we have all been waiting patiently for the movie’s new release date to be announced. Roth has just announced via social media, that the problems have been worked out and that ‘The Green Inferno’ will be premiering on September 25, 2015! That’s right, it’s finally coming, courtesy of Blumhouse Productions.
Back in August Roth had this to say about the delay:
“As of right now, all systems are go for the theatrical release,” Roth revealed to Indiewire. “Here’s the thing: everyone is working to resolve it. Open Road has been amazing through this entire process. I really love them, they’ve been great. Even with whatever situation ‘World View’ is going through, everyone is working together to find the best, cleanest, most positive resoloution and get the film out in the widest release possible.”
The movie follows the group student activists who are traveling from New York to the Amazon to protect a small tribe from destruction from land developers. When their plane crashes in the jungle they are taken hostage by the very tribe they are trying to protect. The tribe are not the gentle people the students thought they were. Soon they realize that they are in real danger and that “no good deed goes unpunished.”
