Stephen King’s novel ‘The Stand’ tells the story of a group of survivors, after the world is decimated by a man-made virus.
This will mark the second time the novel has been made into a miniseries, the first aired back in 1994. The new adaption of King’s ‘The Stand’ is set to include an eight episode miniseries on Showtime that will lead to a full length feature film. The thought behind the miniseries concept is that the series of episodes would allow for more of the story to be told, than any one film could show. Reportedly, the miniseries will be a star studded event. Director Josh Boone is aiming to cast stars who have never before been seen in a TV series.
