Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Jamie Lee Curtis
Well, here we are, my Little Monsters, it looks as if we’ve all managed to survive yet another Halloween. In fact it’s something that we all have in common with today’s wonderful Woman of Horror. Back in 1978, today’s lovely and talented lady survived an encounter with the “boogeyman” on Halloween night and lived to see another day. I’m speaking of course of the OG scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. One could say that Jamie may have quite literally been born to be an actress, as she is the daughter of actress Janet Leigh and actor Tony Curtis. She may also have been somewhat predestined to hold the title as THE Scream Queen, as her own mother Janet played the ill fated Marion Crane, in what is regarded as the seminal film of the slasher sub genre of horror, Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. So it may literally be in the blood. Jamie is a California girl, having been born in Santa

‘Nightbreed’ The Series?
Back in 1990 Nightbreed, the adaption of Clive Barker’s 1988 novella Cabal, opened in theaters. Written and directed by Barker, the film became a cult classic. Barker has long complained about the fact that Nightbreed was watered down before being released in theaters. Rumors of a Nightbreed sequel have circulated for years, but we may actually be getting one, just not a movie. Deadline is saying that Morgan Creek, the producer of the original film, is currently developing a Nightbreed television series. Reportedly, Barker himself is involved creatively in the project. The original film centers on a troubled young man who is drawn to a mythical place called Midian where a variety of monsters are hiding from humanity. At the moment there is no other information available about the show, but as soon as we know more we’ll let you know. How do you feel about a Nightbreed series?

The Crow Reboot Finally Taking Flight
After many false starts, the reboot of The Crow might actually be moving forward. After being abandoned several months ago by Relativity Media, Sony has now stepped in. James O’Barr, the creator of the comic that the 1994 film was inspired by, was recently asked about the status of the new version in an interview with ScreenGeek. He revealed not only that the film’s title is The Crow Reborn but that it is gearing up to start filming in 2018. He also stated that he is he is very involved in the creative process this time around. As of right now, it’s slated to start pre-production in February with a very talented British director named Corin Hardy. I’m involved in every aspect of the film and working closely with the director.” Movieweb quoted O’Barr as saying. One thing O’Barr did not confirm is if Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, who was attached to play Eric Draven, the part originally played by

I had the opportunity to talk with actor-writer-director-producer Justin Price today who took the time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about his upcoming film The Elf and The 13th Friday, along with some of his other projects. Horror Fuel: “I’ve heard that you have to loose and gain weight a lot for your roles.” Price: “I had to lose a lot of weight for ‘Alien Reign of Men’. We shot that in Iceland. I thought I would get into some Daniel Day-Lewis character work, right. I tried to look like a heavy, bulky guy, and I put on about 40 pounds. Then I had to drop it, 40 pounds sounds a lot easier than done. Gaining it was easy.” Horror Fuel: “Do you do that a lot?” Price: “What, fluctuate weight? All the time. In ‘The Cloth’ I was about 165, in the ‘Reign of Men’ I was 240, right now I’m at 185. It’s

“The Shape of Water” Get’s Theatrical Release December 1rst
Despite being having of cinema’s most unique and wonderful minds, Guillermo Del Toro has had some rotten luck in recent years getting his projects off the ground. “Pacific Rim 2”? Given to another director. “Hellboy 3”? Unceremoniously rebooted. “The Hobbit” series? Well, del Toro had the good sense to quit that steaming heap himself. All his work is not for naught however, as his new film, “The Shape of Water” has been absolutely swimming in critical praise. Starring a Sally Hawkins mute woman with a kink for gills, “The Shape of Water” is a unique love story, between two outcasts of society, one of whom just so happens to live underwater. For anyone worried this sounds like some kind of mushy gushy disney film, have no fear; the MPAA has rated the film R for “sexual content, graphic nudity, violence and language.” Del Toro is known for his rather twisted and beautiful takes on fantasy settings (if you haven’t seen
