Plot vs. Gore…Can We Not Have Both?
I was watching a terrifying movie the other day and I made a realization. I will not name movies here because I do not want to throw anyone under the bus, but I realized it feels as though gore and plot have become mutually exclusive. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love gore. I love watching faces and limbs get ripped off. I love watching blood spatter across the screen and hearing screams of victims. I am a huge fan! However, this movie that I watched had almost no gore, almost no blood, no jump scares and was, by far, the best horror movie I have seen in a very long time. The plot was heavy with depth, the characters got developed, I was helplessly sucked in to the story and I loved every minute of it! Again, I am not speaking against gore and bloodbaths caused by torture and machetes, but I am speaking out against movies that are

That’s right, it appears that we are going to see our favorite ‘X-Files’ detectives return, this time for more than just a couple of episodes. Entertainment Weekly has reported that during the Television Critics Association press tour, Fox president David Madden told reporters that the network is planning “to have an announcement very shortly” about the renewal of ‘The X-Files’. The only issue is scheduling around David Duchovney and Gillian Anderson’s prior commitments. He also stated that future seasons of the series will be longer than last year’s revival, but shorter than the series’ original 20 or more episode seasons. I want to believe that it will all come together. If it

Movie Review: Hotel of the Damned is Vacant of Scares or Originality
It’s said that one should never judge a book by it’s cover. One should also not make assumptions based on a tile, such as assuming the type of horror movie one is about to see. After being reunited with his good friend Jimmy, Nicky has one more reunion in n mind – one with his estranged daughter Eliza. Nicky and Jimmy track Eliza down, only to find (much to his dismay) she is living with her druggy boyfriend, Bogdan. This just won’t do, so Nicky removes Eliza from this “situation”. While on the road back to town, someone runs out into the road causing them to swerve and wreck their car. They are in the middle of nowhere, with no working mode of transport and no signs of anyone to provide help
