Dive Into “Meg” Author Steve Alten’s Interactive World “Sea Monster Cove”

If you thought watching the blockbuster movie The MEG, which plunged viewers headfirst into the waiting jaws of a Megalodon in the Mariana Trench, was thrilling, imagine immersing yourself in an interactive world ruled by prehistoric sea creatures and taking part in the heart-pounding action! Steve Alten, the author of the NY Times bestselling MEG series, has created a world like no other. Sea Monster Cove is a revolutionary multimedia entertainment concept that combines virtual reality, a web TV series, a video game, and a learning platform into one interactive site. The Sea Monster Cove website of Alten’s imagination is a spectacular, five-star aquarium-themed resort located on Maug, a remote (and very real) island in the Western Pacific. Maug’s volcano erupted 5 million years ago; today all that remains are three uninhabited islets that had been the volcano’s rim and a flooded magma chamber that serves as its lagoon. Why place a virtual island resort here? That’s where Alten’s research

Movie Review (2020 Virtual Cinequest Film Festival): Fox Hunt Drive

A terrific thrill ride that offers up plenty of uncomfortable scenes and twists, Fox Hunt Drive boasts engaging performances from its two leads and solid, suspenseful directing. Alison (Lizzie Zerebko) wants to land an architecture job. She has the education and qualifications, but something that happened at a former position is working against her. She tries to make ends meet by working for a rideshare company. When she picks up a suspicious fare (Michael Olavson) who looks nothing like the profile photo for her fare and has a duffle bag full of questionable items, it is only the beginning of a deadly night of surprises. That set-up may sound like one used by generic thrillers and horror films galore, but what happens during the course of the night is far above the usual fare, thanks to a clever script from Adam Armstrong and Marcus Devivo. Zerebko and Olavson have crackling chemistry together, which helps elevate the suspension. They both get

31 Days Of Anime Horror Part 7: ‘Paranoia Agent’

It’s October and that means it’s time to get into the spirit of the season, and obviously nothing gets you into the Halloween mood better than horror. Unfortunately when it comes to most live-action horror films, there’s only so much that can be done and shown, but thankfully of all things, Anime can cross the line with story, gore, and intriguing storytelling. So for every day this month, I’ll be featuring a unique Anime that fits the horror genre that you can most likely find on any streaming service. Let’s numb our minds with Paranoia Agent. Paranoia Agent (2004) is about the chain of events caused by a bat-wielding boy on roller skates called Lil’ Slugger who attacks people seemingly at random and involves a large cast of characters who are all affected by his actions. The anime is based on a novel of the same name and is a psychological thriller showing in an extreme case how mass hysteria
