Movie Review: The Dustwalker (2019)

Tremors meets Dawn of the Dead meets Alien in writer-director Sandra Sciberras’ sci-fi horror The Dustwalker. In this Aussie film, one by one the residents of a small isolated town become infected, turning into brutal, bloodthirsty zombie-like creatures that are on a mission, spread the infection, or kill everyone they come in contact with, including loved ones. Those who are struggling to survive look to Joanne Sharp (Jolene Anderson), the local chief of police for guidance along with her right-hand man, Luke (Richard Davies). Things go from zero to sixty fast. The blood starts being shed in the first few minutes. Once the chaos begins, there are bodies and blood everywhere. And while the hints that something otherworldly involved pop up bit by bit once the big twist is revealed it’s all-out war. The villain in this tale is a clever combination of imagination, sci-fi, and science. One of the key elements to the infection takes inspiration from nature, the

Movie Review: ‘Two Heads Creek’ Is Horror Comedy Done Right

When I sat down to watch writer-director Jesse O’Brien’s Two Heads Creek I didn’t know what to really expect. The sad truth is that horror-comedies rarely live up to expectations or their PR campaigns. However, Two Heads Creek is a rare exception. The UK/Aussie film is about a brother and sister who discover that they were adopted after their mother’s death. It was no surprise that they set out to find the mother who gave them up. What they don’t know is how just how twisted their family really is. Two Heads Creek is a mix of blood-drenched action and dark humor. It’s wickedly funny and delightfully demented. This fun flick is a bit campy from beginning to end but in the best possible way! Looking for blood and gore? Two Heads Creek has it, my god does it ever! Jordan Waller and Kathryn Wilder star as the siblings who head to a tiny outback town looking for dear old
