Earlier this year J. J. Abrams surprised fans with a sequel to 2008’s found-footage alien film ‘Cloverfield’, titled ’10 Cloverfield Lane’. The film was huge success, renewing interest in the franchise for fans. We reported in late October that J.J. Abrams’ third ‘Cloverfield’ film, titled ‘God Particle’, had quietly entered production. Recently, The Wrap caught up with actor David Oyelowo in an attempt to lean more about ‘God Particle’They did not learn much, but he did reveal the following: Every single day we were on that set, we were agog with the inventiveness and innovation, between the technology, the story, and the audacity of what we were trying to accomplish. It’s an incredibly exciting and innovative process of storytelling. J.J. Abrams surprised fans earlier this year with a sequel to 2008’s found-footage alien film ‘Cloverfield’, titled ’10 Cloverfield Lane’. The film was huge success, renewing interest in the franchise for fans. It is not surprising that Abrams already has plans for another sequel. What is surprising is that it has already quietly entered production. Abrams revealed to The Wrap that the the new sequel, titled ‘God Particle’, has entered production and has a release date, February 24th, 2017. The site revealed that ‘God Particle’ is “…about a team of astronauts who make a “shocking discovery” and end up fighting for survival in what is described as an altered reality.” ‘God Particle’ will star David Oyelowo, Ziyi Zhang, Gugu Mbtha-Raw, Daniel Brühl, Elizabeth Debicki. J.J. Abrams will produce. Julis Onah will be directing from the script penned by Oren Uziel. ‘God Particle’ will not be the last of the franchise. News comes this morning that after years of rumors the sequel/spin-off to 2008’s Cloverfield is not only real, it’s wrapped filming and is set to land in theaters on March 11th and there is a trailer! Paramount has confirmed it. The title of the film is 10 Cloverfield Lane. 10 Cloverfield Lane stars John Goodman, Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. The film centers on a woman who wakes up to realize she is being held in a cellar by Goodman’s character, who believes there has been a nuclear disaster, but when she escapes she realizes that there is something happening and really was trying to protect her. The film is not a true sequel. It is more of a spin-off. It takes place in a different location than the events that took place in Cloverfield.
