William Gibson‘s Alien 3 script may have never have reached the silver screen, but that won’t stop it from being unleashed on the world. The script is being adapted for a new comic book series. Gibson’s 1980 tale will be illustrated by “Angel Catbird” artist Johnnie Christmas with “Doom Patrol’s” Tamra Bonvillain providing the color. The action-packed comic is set after the events of Alien with Ripley, Bishop, Hicks, and Newt captured by a group called the Union of Progressive People and are whisked away to the space station Anchorpoint. Following the discovery of U.P.P Weyland Yutani are in an arms race to develop an army of bloodthirsty Xenomorphs and the station is overrun. In 1992 David Fincher made his directorial debut with his own version of Alien 3, written by Vincent Ward, which was not loved by critics or fans. It took me several weeks to obtain a copy of Negative Space # 1 to review as I prefer to review comics in print. It was sold out at every local shop but was available online. After reading it I now understand why. This comic is game-changing. This comic will change lives. I mean that. *Spoiler Alert* The story starts with an American Indian writer named Guy Harris who is struggling with writer’s block. However, this isn’t just any story that he is attempting to pen. He is writing his suicide note. Guy decides to go for an evening stroll to try to calm his mind. He isn’t trying to talk himself out of taking his own life. Rather he is looking for the words to express his feelings to those he will leave behind. He goes to order from a local coffee truck ran by his friend Woody. He gets his coffee and Woody can sense something is wrong.

The premier issue of this comic follows the members of the Burton family in three different plotlines. The first part revolves around Niles and Justine Burton. They are an expectant couple who are going for a weekend camping trip in a National Park for their “babymoon”. They have decided that they need time to bond and unwind before the arrival of their new baby. Instead they find an abandoned town full of moths, with a creepy crematorium, and sinister secrets. The second storyline follows their daughter Maggie who is attending a Catholic school, although she is far from saintly. She has a problem with authority, attending school, following the rules, and no faith in God at all as it turns out. However, she does have a spiritual awakening of sorts with the help of some shrooms she got from the girl she is in love with. The third and final feature follows their son named Bee who is being bullied
