J.J. Villard Speaks On Adult Swim’s “J.J. Villard’s Fairy Tales” And Much More In Our Interview

WARNING NSFW! J.J. Villard is one of the craziest animated series creators in the business. Producing wild, brutally twisted shows like King Star King has made quite a name for himself when it comes to shock value. Now, Villard is back to blow our minds with “J.J. Villard’s Fary Tales,” premiering on Adult Swim on Sunday, May 10th at 12:15 AM. Ahead of the premiere, I sat down with Villard to talk about his latest creation, his past hits, and what’s to come. Horror Fuel: “So, I watched the premiere episode of J.J. Villard’s Farytails last night. It’s twisted. Don’t take that wrong, I enjoyed it, but it is brutal.” J.J. Villard: “Yeah, it is [laughter]. Which one did you watch?” Horror Fuel: “I watched the episode with Boy Repunzel.” J.J. Villard: “Oh [laughter]. That one’s a trip.” Horror Fuel: “Yes it is. Brutality and gore seem to be a common thread with your latest few series, like with Fairy

‘YAGA’ Brings The Fun And Old Tales!

I enjoy folklore outside North America, so I was stoked when Versus Evil and Breadcrumbs Interactive allowed me to play their action RPG that revolves entirely around Slavic Mythology, YAGA. YAGA revolves around the tale of Ivan, a blacksmith that’s unlucky, and missing a hand because of it! Ivan is tasked with quests from the Tsar that will take him into the wilderness where he encounters bandits and mythological creatures as he smashes his way through them to achieve greatness, as well as looking for a wife (to quiet his Grandmother). As all this happens, Baba Yaga watches from beyond, influencing Ivan’s journey. The controls of the game are simple and easy to learn as there are not many buttons used in the game. Ivan’s main weapon is a hammer which not only can be used to strike enemies but can be thrown like Thor’s hammer and strike foes at a distance before spinning right back to him. You can

Allerleiruh…A Fairy Tale to Make You Uncomfortable

I have done a few articles on Fairy Tales and still profess that they are the precursors of horror. These stories, though fanciful, are dark, brooding, didactic, and often gory or disturbing. The real tragedy is that so many of the greatest fairy tales are unknown because Disney hasn’t watered them down yet; however, I feel that those ones are the best ones because there really isn’t a natural way to water them down. All-Kinds-of-Fur (Allerleiruh) is one of those fairy tales that isn’t gory or anything, but it is a great story that leaves a very uncomfortable feeling I the pit of the reader’s stomach…and isn’t that what we all crave? The tale starts off with the death of a queen who was the most beautiful woman in all the land. On her death bed, she told her husband that he could marry again, but “if thou wishest to marry again after my death, take no one who is
