31 Days Of Anime Horror Part 31: ‘Ghost Stories’

It’s Halloween and it’s time to get into the spirit of the day and obviously nothing gets you into the Halloween mood better than horror. Unfortunately when it comes to most live-action horror films, there’s only so much that can be done and shown, but thankfully of all things, Anime can cross the line with story, gore, and intriguing storytelling. So for every day this month, I was featuring unique Animes that fit the horror genre that you can most likely find on any streaming service. It all came down to this special anime that gathered a cult following for the most surprising reasons; I’m talking about Ghost Stories. Ghost Stories (2000) is a show about a sister and her little brother who just moved into the town where their late mother grew up and started to attend the same school she did. ‘Ghost Stories’ Will Haunt Blu-ray And DVD This September

This September the horror anthology Ghost Stories will haunt Blu-ray and DVD. This frightening flick hails from directors Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman and stars Martin Freeman ( Sherlock, Black Panther). Professor Goodman (Andy Nyman, Black Death) has devoted his life to exposing phony psychics and fraudulent supernatural claims. His skepticism is tested, however, when he receives a case file on three chilling and inexplicable incidents: a night watchman (Paul Whitehouse, Corpse Bride) haunted by disturbing visions as he patrols an abandoned asylum; an edgy young man (Alex Lawther, Freak Show) involved in a hellish car accident deep in the woods; and a wealthy former banker (Martin Freeman) visited by the spirit of his unborn child. Even more disturbing is that each of these macabre stories seems to have a sinister connection to Professor Goodman’s own life. Will they make a believer of him yet? Pick up your copy of Ghost Stories on Blu-ray or DVD on September 4, 2018,

In the film, comprised of three spine-tingling tales of terror, a debunker of all things paranormal, Professor Phillip Goodman (Andy Nyman) has devoted his life to exposing phony psychics and fraudulent supernatural shenanigans on his own television show. His skepticism is put to the test, however, when he receives a file of three chilling, inexplicable cases: a night watchman (Paul Whitehouse) haunted by disturbing visions as he patrols an abandoned asylum; an edgy young man (Black Mirror’s Alex Lawther) involved in a hellish car accident deep in the woods; and a wealthy former banker (Sherlock’s Martin Freeman) visited by the poltergeist spirit of his unborn child. Even scarier: each of these macabre stories seems to have a sinister connection to Professor Goodman’s own
