New Dinosaur Named After Ghostbusters’ Terror Dog

Victoria Arbour and David C. Evans, researchers at the Royal Ontario Museum, have discovered a new species of dinosaur and named it after one of Ghostbuster’s “terror dog”, Zuul. The reason the name was picked, because it resembles the dog-like demons in the first Ghostbuster movie. The beast, an ankylosaurine, whose scientific name is Zuul Crurivastator, which means “destroyer of shins”, had a sledgehammer-like tail that was used during battle and mating. Me and my co-author David Evans were batting around ideas for what to name it, and I half-jokingly said, “It looks like Zuul from Ghostbusters,” Arbour told CBC News. “Once we put that out there we couldn’t not name it that.” Zuul, who lived 75-million-years ago, caught the attention of Dan Aykroyd who played Ray Stantz and co-wrote the film and he visited the museum to see the creature for himself. We’re so honored that the Royal Ontario Museum would accord the name of this magnificent creature with

Women (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: ALIEN DAY TWOFER! Sigourney Weaver And Veronica Cartwright

Greetings, my Little Xenomorphs. Yes, I know you’re all accustomed to the moniker of Little Monsters, but today is the 26th of April or 4/26, thus making it ALIEN DAY! I trust I don’t need to explain the relevance of the number combination in relation to the movie Alien. BUT, for those of you who don’t know, it’s a reference to the planet, known as LV-426, where the crew of the star-freighter Nostromo first encountered the facehugger that “impregnated” Ash (played by the late great John Hurt). OK, that’s enough of that, because we’re here to focus on TWO wonderful Women of Horror today. That’s right, count ’em…one, two. As you can clearly see, the focus today is on the only two female female cast members of Ridley Scott’s classic 1979 film, Alien – Veronica Cartwright and Sigourney Weaver. Both of these ladies would grace the world with their presence in 1949. Veronica A. Cartwright was born on April 20th

Who Ya Gonna Call Out?

Critical Thinking Cynema is not a film review series. Ghostbusters 2016 got a lot of shit before it was released. This article is a companion piece to my previous “Critical Thinking” essay. Ghostbusters 2016 is not funny and as a result I will argue that it’s really not a movie. The trailer holds a record for most negative comments on YouTube. There is a reason for this, however, the venomous personal attacks against one of its stars, Leslie Jones, were unwarranted and inexcusable. All of that aside, I am going to use Cynema to explain with critical thinking, why this film was a failure and arguably not a true film. Ghostbusters 2016, Answer the Call, whatever…is another studio bait and switch. This has nothing to do with a female cast. It’s not a racial thing. So let’s get the misogyny and race baiting out of the way. Ghostbusters 2016 wouldn’t have been funny even if the original actors starred. Does

Reels Of Never Before Seen ‘Ghostbusters’ Footage Discovered

1984 saw the release of a ‘Ghostbuster’, a film that quickly became a classic. News has come that will have fans more excited than Slimer when he sees food, never before seen footage has been discovered! Yesterday, Ghost Corps, a division of Columbia Pictures devoted to everything ‘Ghostbuster’, posted a photo of three film reels, each marked with hand-written notes. Ghost Corps is headed by none other than Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd and Ivan Reitman. One of the reels is titled “Fort Detmerring” and is suspected to contain the sought after deleted scene where Ray Stanz (Dan Aykroyd) gets intimate with a beautiful ghost. The only reason that fans know that the scene exists is that a still surfaced when the film was originally released. Why the scene didn’t make it into the film I don’t know. Ghostbusters Wikia says this about the scene: Ray Stantz is in the Fort Detmerring Single Officers’ Quarters, a painstakingly restored period room with a
