Martian Insanity In ‘Moons Of Madness’

Norwegian game developer Rock Pocket Games is sending gamers to Mars where Lovecraftian horrors await in ‘Moons of Madness’. The game is a first-person psychological horror story where players take on the role of astronaut Shane Newhart who encounters supernatural events at the first research station on the red planet. The game takes a twist on the insanity element of the game where developers came up with a “Zone-Out” mechanic where players see through Shane’s eyes a mix of Shane’s past, events that have not happened yet or things Shane should not know but now does. These Zone-Out events are to add to the anxiety of the game for players making them question what information they are getting from these unique hallucinations are real or not. Keeping with true Lovecraft elements, when humanity thinks it understands the universe it throws a horrific curveball, exploring the unknown without really being prepared for it, ‘Moons of Madness’ is set to be released

Survival Horror & WWI In ‘Ad Infinitum’

‘Ad Infinitum’ means again and again in the same way; forever. Kind of along the lines of the saying, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” That seems to be hinting at what’s going to happen to players when they play StrixLab’s upcoming survival horror game, ‘Ad Infinitum’. According to the StrixLap website, the game takes place in a trench during the First World War but there are horrific creatures stalking around in them. While playing in first person, you have to solve puzzles, avoid traps and of course, avoiding the creatures whiles the lines of insanity and the horrors of war become blurred. The game is set to be released for PC and possibly for Console, the release date is unknown at this time but after seeing the trailer, I hope it’s soon and does make it to console!

Tick Tock – An Original Story: Part 2

Part One here “Can I help again today Dad?” “Of course son, come on.” It was time to wind the watch. He looked forward to watching his father reverently remove the watch from its stand in the glass case on the bookshelf in the den of their house. Gently he took the watch down and laid it on a soft piece of material on the desk next to a lamp. He sat on a stool next to his father watching his father’s skilled hands polishing the watch’s casing. Then he slowly opened it, blew out imaginary dust from the hinge, and polished the crystal. Then, with his eyes glued to the project, he watched his dad carefully wind the watch three and a half times, listen to it tick and listen to it tock. Then, following another quick wipe-down he tenderly set it back in the glass case. “This watch must be wound every day. It is important never to

Tick Tock – An Original Short Story Part: 1

TICK…the watch hand clicked each second away…TOCK…each second seemed slower than the prervious one…TICK…it had been two hours since they had left him…TOCK…it was the first time he had been alone for three months, maybe four…TICK…it was hard to remember…TOCK…the seconds were getting slower…TICK…maybe the watch needed to be wound…TOCK…where had he left it…TICK…he could never remember where he set it…TOCK…“it must be wound every day to keep working”…TICK…his father’s words echoed in his mind and he began to panic. His father hadn’t said what would happen if the watch was not wound…TOCK…would it stop working? Nothing could be worse than that…TICK…he searched frantically for it…TOCK… The watch was a golden pocket watch. It was just over three inches in diameter with a large knob on the top to wind it. The outside of the gleaming gold that the watch was made of held no images, no scratches, no etching, nothing that took away from the light that always seemed

Fa-la-la-la-la….La-la-la-Lawson….The Christmas Family Murders

1929 was a rough year. The stock markets crashed and it was the genesis of the dreaded dirty thirties. Many people had their lives ripped apart, but on Christmas Day, the Lawson family had their lives ripped away…by their own father. Charlie Lawson (age 43) his wife, Fanny (age 37) and their seven children, Marie (age 17), Arthur (age 16), Carrie (age 12), Maybell (age 7) James (age 4) Raymond, (age 2) and Mary Lou (age 4 months) had a large family on a failing tobacco farm in North Carolina. A few days before Christmas, Charley took his family to town and and used what little funds they had to buy new clothes and get a, now famous, family portrait. This action has led many to believe that his actions were pre-meditated as opposed to a spur of the moment psychotic break. First on the familial hit list were daughters Carrie and Maybell. They were murdered with a shot gun
