Trailer For HBO’s New Series “The Third Day” Gives Off A Wicker Man Vibe

HBO’s new limited series “The Third Day,” starring Jude Law, is set to premiere this September with six episodes separated into two seasons, Summer and Winter. We’ve got the new trailer that gives off a serious “Wicker Man” vibe. Created by Dennis Kelly and Felix Barrett, the series follows Sam, a man drawn to a mysterious island off of the British coast, who encounters a group of islanders set on preserving their traditions at any cost. Helen, a strong-willed outsider comes to the island seeking answers – but whose arrival precipitates a fractious battle to decide its fate. Naomie Harris, Katherine Waterston, Emily Watson, and Paddy Considine also star in “The Third Day,” premiering on HBO on September 14th at 9 pm. Let us know what you think of the trailer.

What Makes ‘Contagion’ The Most Relevant “Horror” Film Right Now?

Alright first off, true, Contagion is not really a horror film, but a thriller but due to recent events going on around the world, it might as well be as there are so many creepy similarities boarding lining with Simpsonsesque foresight which is why the film is more relevant now than when it came out in 2011. What adds credence to the film is the outpouring of praise and support by the scientific community that applaud the film’s showing of what goes on behind the scenes when scientists are put on the front line to fight a pandemic. For those not familiar with the film, Contagion follows the spread of a new (fictitious) virus that becomes known as MEV-1 and how it spread quickly around the world causing mass panic and death while the CDC along with other organizations struggle to find a way to combat the virus as misinformation spreads. Showtime Confirms Taika Waititi’s Horror Comedy Series “The Auteur” Now In Production

Showtime has now confirmed that “The Auteur,” a new horror-comedy series, is in development from the Oscar-winning writer-director Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, What We Do In the Shadows) who co-wrote the series with Peter Warren (Ghost Team), Deadline reports. Starring Oscar nominee Jude Law (The Young Pope), the series based on the graphic novel by Rick Spears, James Callahan, and Luigi Anderson. Described as a”gonzo horror-comedy, a twisted romance, and a glamorous, high wire act of biting satire,” “The Auteur” follows a film producer, desperate to make a great horror movie following a massive bomb, accidentally traps his production on a backlot with a serial killer. Waititi took home an Oscar for his most recent film, Jojo Rabbit which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in. The film is a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy named Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson)

Blake Lively Stars In The Revenge Thriller ‘The Rhythm Section’ (Trailer)

In the action-packed trailer for director Reed Morano‘s (The Handmaid’s Tale) thriller The Rhythm Section, we meet a woman (Blake Lively) hell-bent on revenge. Lively stars as Stephanie Patrick, an ordinary woman on a path of self-destruction after her family is tragically killed in a plane crash. When Stephanie discovers that the crash was not an accident, she enters a dark, complex world to seek revenge on those responsible and find her own redemption. The Rhythm Section also stars Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown. The film is based on the novel by Mark Burnell who also penned the script. Michael G. Wilson, p.g.a. and Barbara Broccoli, p.g.a.are producing. Executive producers include Stuart Ford, Greg Shapiro, Mark Burnell, Rob Friedman, Vaishali Mistry, Donald Tang, Simon Williams, and Gregg Wilson The Rhythm Section opens in theaters on January 31st.
