New Line May Have Found Their Director For Annabelle 2

Last October we reported that a sequel was in the works for Annabelle, the spin-off of The Conjuring. We told you that Gary Dauberman, who wrote the first film, will be returning for part two. We have since learned, via Bloody-Disgusting, that New Line has set there sights on David F. Sandberg for the directors chair. Sandberg is also the writer/director of direct James Wan’s full length adaption of the short horror film Lights Out, which will open in theaters July 22, 2016. In the first film a loving husband gifts his pregnant wife with an antique doll for their baby’s nursery. When their neighbors are murdered the doll becomes possessed by one of their spirits. Annabelle was actually based on a true case handled by paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren, though the doll was given a makeover for her film debut. The real Annabelle is actually a Raggedy-Anne doll

James Wan’s Adaption Of ‘Lights Out’ Now In Post-Production

We first learned that the short film Lights Out would be adapted as a full length feature, written and directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by James Wan (The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2) back in June. The film has now entered post-production and will be released by New Line in July of 2016. In the feature film, a boy and his estranged sister are stalked by an evil entity that can only be seen when the lights are out. Lights Out will star Warm Bodies actress Teresa Palmer , Emily Alyn Lind (The Haunting in Connecticut 2), Alicia Vela-Bailey (Interstellar), Amiah Miller (Trafficked), Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle), Andi Osho (Night and Day), and Alexander DiPersia (I Am Legend). There is a bit of a difference between the plot of the short film and the feature film, but with Wan producing I have no doubt it will be great. A trailer for the full film has not yet been released, but
