RLJE & Shudder Acquire The Rights To The Horror-Fantasy ‘The Spine Of The Night’

RLJE Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, and Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural have acquired the North American rights to the fantasy-horror film The Spine of Night following its successful world premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. Produced with hand-rotoscoped animation, The Spine of Night is inspired by the classic works of artists like Ralph Bakshi and Frank Franzetta, and the fantasy genre as it was in the 1970s: boundary-pushing, politically progressive, and utterly fearless. Listen up you primitive screwheads, Ash vs Evil Dead‘s third and final season has just landed on Blu-ray and DVD! The third season was filled to the gills with gore and deadite ass-kicking action. During the season Ash (Bruce Campbell) spent time coping with the strained relationship with his newly discovered daughter Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill). Ash, Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Dalton (Lindsay Farris) went head to head with Ruby (Lucy Lawless) who was obsessed with raising her spawn and killing Ash. It seems our wild ride with jefe and deadite slayer Ash Williams has come to an end. It’s with a heavy heart that we report that Starz has canceled “Ash vs Evil Dead” (*tear falls). Ash Williams, played by Bruse Campbell, will soon be back in action in season 3 of Starz’s hit series ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ and we couldn’t be happier. This season “Ash’s status in Elk Grove, Michigan has changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet.” That’s not all, this season we’ll get to meet Ash’s daughter, played by Arielle Carver-O’Neill. The series is based on the 1981 classic Evil Dead written and directed by Sam Raimi and starring Campbell. Raimi, Campbell, Rob Tapert, Ivan Raimi, and Rick Jacobson serve as executive producers for the series. Mark Verheiden and Moira Grant serve as showrunners.
