2018 was a sad year for horror video games. Many games that were scheduled to be released were pushed back to the upcoming year while some that were supposed to start going into development in ’18 simply never happened. Even some titles that were released slipped through the cracks without even drawing attention, but like most crappy things in life, there’s a silver lining, in this case, five of them. Without further ado and in no particular order, here are my Top 5 Horror Games Of 2018. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One) This dark fantasy by Ninja Theory has won over 20 awards and enchanted fans with a fusion world of Norse and Celtic cultures. Since my review of “The Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game”, I’ve played the game twice and have enough to give my final thoughts. The following will contain spoilers as I explain the overall main plot as it may be confusing to those who have played the game and have questions, but at the end (My final thoughts) are spoiler free if you wish to skip down to that. One whaling ship came back missing half its crew that was lost during the fight to catch this gigantic “Whale” that fed the entire island. Three of the island’s inhabitants, Captain Fitzroy, Dr. Fuller, and Jack

It’s no secret, I’ve been waiting to wrap my tentacles around Cyanide Studio & Focus Home Interactive’s game “The Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game”, I’ve waited patiently for the game’s release but the good folks at Focus Home Interactive gave me a copy, and all I can say about this game is wow! First, let’s get the basics of the story out of the way. You play as a private detective named Edward Pierce from Boston. Pierce is tormented by constant nightmares that may be a result of the action he’s seen in the First World War, his lighter hints of his trauma with the engraving “Lost Battalion 10-7-18” implying Pierce is one of the 194 survivors from one of the most intense battles in WW1. Self-medicating with bootleg hooch and sleeping pills, Pierce is approached by a wealthy industrialist to investigate the death of his daughter and famous painter Sara Hawkins. Hawkins died along with her husband
