Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Sheri Moon Zombie

Hello my Little Monsters, I’m pleased to see that you have again returned to join me in celebrating another of our wonderful Women of Horror. We are less than one week from Halloween, and it just so happens that today’s lovely and talented lady played Michael Myer’s mother in Rob Zombie’s brutal remake of John Carpenter’s horror classic Halloween. That’s right, today Sheri Moon Zombie is our lady in the spotlight. Sheri Lyn Skurkis may be a California girl by birth, having been born in San Jose, but she was raised in Torrington, Connecticut. In her late teens, Sheri would travel back and forth between Connecticut and California while she attended school and also pursued work. While she didn’t originally have designs on becoming an actress in the traditional sense, Sheri had her sights set on doing voice overs and voice acting for cartoons and animation. At one point she also wanted to join MTV’s ranks as a “VJ” and

Rob Zombie May Be Resurrecting The ‘Devil’s Rejects’

Back in 2005 director and horror rocker Rob Zombie followed up his 2003 horror spectacle, House of 1000 Corpses, with a brutal and murderous 70’s style road film called The Devil’s Rejects . It’s a film that many have lauded as his best film-making effort thus far. Now I know what many of you are thinking, “didn’t they all die in a hail of police gunfire while Lynyrd Skynyrd’s song Free Bird played in the background?”…well, yes it’s pretty safe to assume they did. However, I’m sure in death they didn’t likely find themselves knocking at the pearly gates. And since they are called the “Devil’s Rejects”,

Is Rob Zombie Planning A Devil’s Rejects Sequel ?

Today on Rob Zombie’s Instagram account he posed an interesting question in the caption under an image of The Devil’s Rejects poster, “Just curious would anyone be interested in watching another movie starring these three characters?” Of course many of 341,000 plus followers liked the post, with 3,321 comments screaming yes (in more words or less). Hell, I was one of them. Does this mean that Zombie is considering a sequel or prequel? It’s possible. Then again, it could simply mean that Zombie wants to reunite Sid Haig, Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Moseley in another film. Either way, I’m sure fans of Zombie’s work and of the cast would be happy to see the trio together again, after all they did have great chemistry.
