An Interview With Actress Valerie Jane Parker About Her Role In The Supernatural-Horror ‘The Voices’

After a terrible car accident, Lilly, a young girl loses her sight but gains the ability to hear the dead. As she grows older and builds a good life with her husband, when she becomes pregnant the voices become louder, wanting their souls to be chosen to become her baby’s. That’s the premise of award-winning filmmaker Nathaniel Nuon’s The Voices starring actress Valerie Jane Parker (Wrong Turn 2021) in the role of Lilly (as an adult). I sat down with Valarie to discuss her role in the film. Horror Fuel: “How difficult was it to play someone who has lost their sight?” Valarie Jane Parker: “It was a challenge but I enjoyed the challenge. The main thing for me was I wanted to make sure that I made the portrait authentic. I didn’t want it to be cheap or fake in any way, so I spent about a month preparing for it. I watched a bunch of documentaries on how

Movie Review: The Voices (2014)

Jerry (Ryan Rynolds) is a lovable guy, he just happens to hear voices. Jerry navigates life with the help of his talking pets. Jerry’s dog is a sweetheart, but his cat is a dick. Mr. Whiskers wants Jerry to give in to his murderous instincts. Jerry has a big crush on Fiona (Gemma Arterton), a girl in the accounting department of the plant where he works, but when Fiona stands him up for a date, she sets off a series of events that ends with her head being kept in his refrigerator. ‘The Voices’ was directed by Marjane Satrapi and was written by Michael R. Perry. Anna Kendrick (Twilight) plays the role of Lisa, who has a bit of a crush of Jerry. ‘The Voices’ also stars Jacki Weaver (Stoker) and Ella Smith (Cinderella). This horror-comedy was fantastic. Jerry came across as charming but unhinged. The way the movie was shot was wonderful, from the way they showed Jerry’s environment
