New ‘Candyman’ Trailer Begs You To Say His Name

Oscar® winner Jordan Peele unleashes a fresh take on the blood-chilling urban legend of Candyman. Directed by Nia DaCosta (Little Woods, upcoming Captain Marvel 2), who breathes new life into the classic horror franchise, Candyman has a new fright-filled trailer ahead of its August arrival in theaters. Just remember, whatever you do, don’t say his name. “For as long as residents can remember, the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini-Green neighborhood were terrorized by a word-of-mouth ghost story about a supernatural killer with a hook for a hand, easily summoned by those daring to repeat his name five times into a mirror. In the present day, a decade after the last of the Cabrini towers were torn down, visual artist Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II; HBO’s “Watchmen”, Us) and his partner, gallery director Brianna Cartwright (Teyonah Parris; If Beale Street Could Talk, The Photograph), move into a luxury loft condo in Cabrini, now gentrified beyond recognition and inhabited by upwardly mobile

True Crime Movie ‘American Boogeyman’ Receives A Summer Release Date

Voltage Pictures has scored the rights to American Boogeyman, the untold story of the detective and rookie FBI profiler that hunted Ted Bundy. Daniel Farrands (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers) both wrote and directs American Boogeyman starring Chad Michael Murray (House of Wax) as the infamous serial killer. “Set in a gritty and decadent 1970s America, American Boogeyman follows the elusive and charming killer and the manhunt that brought him to justice involving the detective and the FBI rookie who coined the phrase “serial killer.” Ted Bundy is such a fascinatedly divisive character and is the true personification of evil,” said Voltage Pictures president and COO Jonathan Deckter.“Murray is so talented and expertly captures Bundy’s charm and seductive nature, traits that the notorious killer exploited to win the trust of his victims as well as society. It’s fantastic to continue working with the very gifted Lucas and Dan on this feature and bring engaging narratives to the screen.” Lin

Suki Waterhouse Enrolls In A Haunted Boarding School In ‘Seance’

Suki Waterhouse (The Bad Batch, Assassination Nation) is set to star as the protagonist in Simon Barrett‘s horror directorial debut, Seance, EW reports. “Seance is a murder mystery set at a girls boarding school where a young woman recently died,” says Simon Barrett. “Our hero moves into her dorm room, which is believed to be haunted, and sets about trying to find out what happened.” “She was the first person who signed on,” Barrett states. “I was looking at Suki originally to play Alice — the bully, the leader of the girls at the school. I thought of Camille as an underdog. Suki is a model, she has such a striking look, I was not certain how that would work. Then I sat down and talked with her for like three hours, and she had an interesting take on Camille and totally got the jokes in the film. She honestly was the only person who thought the script was funny.
