Back in 1989, director Mary Lambert collaborated with legendary author Stephen King to bring his best-selling book Pet Semetary to life. Two New England filmmakers, John Campopiano and Justin White have spent 5 years uncovering the story of Pet Sematary’s journey from book to film. For the first time, fans of King and the film can go behind the scenes in HD on the upcoming Blu-ray. Unearthed and Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary is both an in-depth independent documentary and a celebration of King’s classic, told by the cast and crew from the 1989 undead hit, as well as locals from Maine – the place it all started. The documentary contains interviews heard for the first time, tours of the iconic film locations, never-before-seen photographs and videos from the set. The interviews are with people such as director Mary Lambert, cast members Denise Crosby, Dale Midkiff, Miko Hughes, Brad Greenquist, Andrew Hubatsek, Susan Blommaert, the Berdahl twins, Michael Lombard

Back in September of last year we told you about Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary, a documentary about the making of Stephen King’s classic Pet Sematary and its journey from print to the silver screen. On April 21st, in celebration of the film’s 27th anniversary, Terror Films is releasing the trailer for the documentary, poster and a special promotion. Unearthed & Untold will be released this October, just in time for Halloween. From the Press Release: The Documentary promotional release will begin on April 27th and continue for 27 Days, ending on May 18th and will be the only time this Limited Edition Offer will be available, prior to the documentary’s official release currently set for October 2016. ‘Pet Sematary’ is the latest classic horror film to be the focus of a documentary. The documentary, titled ‘Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary’, has been acquired by Terror Films and is set to be released in early 2016. The documentary was written and directed by John Campopiano and Justin White, who began the project in 2011. The 1989 film was an adaption of the Stephen King novel by the same name. ‘Pet Sematary’ is a rare adaption that pleased both horror fans and Stephen King fans and remains one of the most loved films in the eyes of horror fans.
