Following tonight’s episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, the aftershow ‘Talking Dead’ aired revealing the identity of the cross-over character who will bridge the two series.
Early in the episode viewers were told that later in the show we would find out who the character is via a live-video. Sure enough, when the screen came on there sat Lennie James whose character Morgan will make the leap from ‘The Walking Dead’ to its sister show ‘Fear the Walking Dead’.

James appeared via satellite due to the fact that he could not make it to the ‘Talking Dead’ set because he begins filming for ‘FTWD’ tomorrow in Austin, Texas. Season 8 of ‘TWD’ only wrapped filming a week ago.
While other details remain under wraps. It hasn’t been made clear if the crossover will be on the same timeline as ‘TWD’ at this point. With filming just beginning on his part of the younger series it would leave the crossover to happen either in the second half of this season or in the next season.

After the announcement fans quickly took to Twitter wondering if this meant that Morgan will be killed off on ‘TWD’ and if the character will now take its place on ‘FTWD’ permanently.
Host Chris Hardwick read a message out loud from ‘Walking Dead’ executive producer Scott M. Gimple about Morgan and it seemed to be an attempt to assure fans that ‘TWD’ hasn’t seen the last of Morgan.

Even though Morgan is going to be featured on Fear, he has a lot of story left on The Walking Dead. Morgan’s arc on The Walking Dead season 8 positioned him for the story on Fear. It is also important to see Fear’s world and characters through new yet familiar eyes.”
