A couple of months ago we reported that Wesley Snipes has been talking with Marvel about reprising his role as the badass vampire slayer Blade. Now news has come that John Ridley has been hired to bring a new hero to life for a show on ABC. According to Bleeding Cool, a series based on Blade’s daughter Fallon Grey is Ridley’s new project.
Word is Marvel also wants to develop a movie on Blade and Fallon Grey. There is no word to who they are looking to cast in the movie as Fallon, but let’s hope that Snipes will be back for his role. I think it would be a huge mistake to cast anyone else as Blade. I would love to see Blade and his daughter together in action. Marvel has also announced a new comic book series that will revolve around Fallon.
So far there has been no date announced for either the series or the film.
