We reported this past June that Winona Ryder had been cast in the role of Joyce in Netflix’s upcoming original series Stranger Things. The supernatural series has now received a premiere date, Friday, July 15th. The first season of Stranger Things was both written and directed by Matt and Rose Duffer, who were also behind Wayward Pines, and will consist on eight one-hour episodes.
“In the series, a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.”
Ryder stars alongside David Harbour (Suicide Squad), Millie Brown (Once Upon A Time), Finn Wolfard (The 100), Gaten Matarazzo (The Blacklist), Noah Schnapp (Bridge of Spies), Caleb McLaughlin (The Lion King on Broadway), Natalia Dyer (After Darkness), Charlie Heaton (Shut In), and Weed‘s Mathew Modine.
