From writer/director Robert Eggers comes The Witch. Set in the 1630’s New England, years before the Salem witch trials of 1692. A farmer has been cast out of a colonial plantation, along with his family. They are forced to move to a remote piece of land bordered by a forest, rumored to be the home of witches and dark magic. Soon, strange things begin to occur, animals act oddly and crops wilt and a child disappears, only to return possessed. As things worsen the family finds their faith, strength and family bonds tested. Soon they begin to suspect that their teenage daughter Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy) is the source of the trouble.
