The trailer for the Norwegian disaster film The Wave has not had a lot of media attention yet here in the states yet, but I think it’s a film you should know about.
Scientists have warned the residents in the village of Akneset that another tsunami could happen, but no one thought it would happen any time soon. They were wrong. The village is directly in the path of a 85 meter (279 feet) high wave. A geologist and his young daughter are caught in the middle of the of the chaos. The two are trying to escape the danger zone, along with everyone in the village before it’s to late.
The Wave was directed by Roar Uthaug and stars Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Thomas Bo Larsen, Fridtjov Saheim, Jonas Hoff Oftebro, Afrthur Berning, Edith Haagenrud-Sande, Lado Hadzic, Eili Harboe and Herman Bernhoft.
The Wave has already been released in Norway and will be released in the U.S. on March 4th via Magnolia Productions.
