Award-winning actor Djimon Hounsou has joined the cast for the upcoming season of M. Night Shyamalan’s Wayward Pines. Hounsou has starred in many great films, including Gladiator, Blood Diamond, Guardian of the Galaxy and most recently, Air. Housou will play CJ Mitchum, a former teacher and historian with extensive knowledge of the town’s origin.
The new character of Dr. Theo Yedlin, played by Jason Patrick (The Lost Boys), has also been added. He is a driven surgeon whose leadership skills will prove valuable to the residents of Wayward Pines. Dr. Yeldin will soon find himself stuck in the middle of the rebellion.
In the first season, we saw Ethan (Matt Dillon) wake in the hospital in the strange town of Wayward Pines. We watched as Dillon tried to escape the town, surrounded by huge walls and we learned that the people of the town may be the only humans left on Earth. Outside the walls hungry creatures, decedents of what was once the human race, are waiting. When a group tries to escape the town part of the wall came down, letting the creatures inside.
The second season, which begins this summer, will pick up with the town’s residents “battling the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation.” and a decision made by Mitchum will affect the lives of everyone in Wayward Pines.
