Ridley Scott’s new Promethius sequel Alien: Covenant, has been picking up speed. Last week we reported that several new cast members have boarded Covenant, including Kathrine Waterston and Damian Birch, with Michael Fassbender reprising his role as David. The original release date had been set for October 2017, but that’s has changed. Alien: Covenant will now land in theaters ahead of schedule, on August 4th, 2017.
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the colony ship Covenant, discovers what it thinks is a new uncharted paradise, but the planet is actually a dark and dangerous world – whose sole inhabitant is David, the “Synthetic” lone survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Scott has revealed that in Covenant fans will witness all forms of the Xenomorphs, eggs, facehuggers, chest-bursters and finally, the adult Xenomorph.
“We’ll have them all, egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.” Scott stated in a recent interview. “They’re going to go to the planet where the engineers came from, and come across the evolving creatures that they had made.” Scott continued. “Why did they make it? Why would they make such a terrifying beast? It felt bio-mechanoid, it felt like a weapon. And so the movie will explain that, and reintroduce the alien back into it.”
