Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the long awaited sequel to Prometheus, will soon begin filming in Australia. Covenant, which is directly connected to Scott’s 1979 classic sci-fi/horror film Alien, is scheduled to open in theaters on October 6th, 2017.
We reported earlier this year that Noomi Repace will not be reprising her role as “Dr, Elizabeth Shaw”, leaving Michael Fassbender as the only returning actor. A slew of new cast members have just been announced, including Kathrine Waterston (Inherent Vice), Damian Bicher (The Hateful Eight), Jussie Smollett (Empire), Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color), Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills), Carmen Ejogo (Selma) and Billy Crudup (Spotlight).
A ship bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the colony ship Covenant, discovers what they think is a new uncharted paradise, but the planet is actually a dark and dangerous world – whose sole inhabitant is David (Fassbender), the “Synthetic” lone survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Scott has revealed that in Covenant we will witness all forms of the Xenomorphs, eggs, facehuggers, chest-bursters and finally, the adult Xenomorph.
