Syfy and The Asylum announced this week that Gary Busey has joined the cast of Sharknado 4. Busey is set to play the role of Wilford Wexler, the father of Tara Reid’s character and has been described as a robotics expert, which will play a big part in the story line of the sequel.
Ian Ziering is returning to his role as Fin Shepard and Tara Reid as April. David Hassalhoff, who played Fin’s father, and Ryan Newman are also set to reprise their roles. As with all it predecessors Sharknado 4 will be filled with a horde of cameos. Some of the stars that will be spotted in them are Tommy Davidson (Black Dynamite), model Cheryl Tiegs, Iman Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris), Cody Linley (Hannah Montana) and many others who have yet to be announced.
Sharknado 4, directed by Anthony C. Ferrante and written by Thunder Lavin, will premiere on Syfy this July. The last time we saw Fin and April she had just given birth inside a shark after being swallowed whole. Fin was able to save her and the baby, but a piece of the space shuttle comes falling to earth and the screen goes black. After the credits viewers learn that they had the power to choose if April lives or dies by voting, with one catch, the verdict would not be revealed until we see Sharknado 4.
