The film begins with detective Bruce Kenner receiving a new assignment, investigating the rape of a young woman (Emma Watson). Angela claims that she was raped as part of a cult ritual carried out by her father, John (Denck). She speaks of dark rituals, human sacrifice and torture at the hands of the cult. John has no memory of the event that Angela speaks of. When detective Kenner employees the help on a psychiatrist (Thewlis), the two use regression therapy to retrieve the memories of that from John. John suddenly begins to remember the cult surrounding his daughter and a hooded man raping her as he looked on. Everywhere detective Kenner turns he sees the evidence of the massive cult and  believes he’s next on their list. Angela’s warnings of the cult echo in his head non-stop. But is there really a cult or is something else at work? I won’t tell you. I would hate to spoil the film for you.

Regression draws you and keeps you hooked to the very end. There are many twists in the film and an ending you won’t see coming. Both Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson played their roles very convincingly. It was dark and brutal, just how I like my movies. Over all, I was very pleased with Regression and would recommend it. You can pick up your copy today, download it on Digital HD or rent it on Netflix DVD.
