Summer is coming and with it comes the fourth film in the Sharknado franchise. After a long wait SyFy has now revealed the Star Wars inspired title of the film, directed by Anthony C. Farrante, as Sharknado: The 4th Awakens. They have also announced the premiere date. Come July 31 at 8pm, take cover, Sharknado 4 is coming!
Sharknado: The 4th Awakens is set to be the biggest film of the franchise. The film picks up five years after the events of Sharknado 3. Fin, played by Ian Ziering, and his family are living a peaceful life. The world is finally free of Sharknados, or so they thought. Now, a new danger is lurking. Suddenly, sharks are falling from the sky once again in, this time in Las Vegas.
Gary Busey is set to play the role of Wilford Wexler, the father of Tara Reid’s character. He has been described as a robotics expert, which will play a big part in the story line of the sequel. David Hassalhoff, who played Fin’s father, and Ryan Newman are also set to reprise their roles. As with all it predecessors Sharknado 4 will be filled with a horde of cameos. Some of the stars that will be spotted in the movie are Tommy Davidson (Black Dynamite), model Cheryl Tiegs, Iman Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris), Cody Linley (Hannah Montana) and many others who have yet to be announced.
Today the first trailer for The 4th Awakens has made landfall and it’s everything we hoped it would be. Sharks, Fin and April, cheesy lines, a ton of cameos and even a stripper fighting a shark with his money-maker. You’ve got to love the Sharknado franchise!
