The US and Canadian rights for the horror-thriller The Shelter, written and directed by John Fallon, have been acquired by Uncork’d Entertainment, Bloody-Disgusting reports. Starring Michael Pare (Abattoir, Village of the Damned, Eddie and the Cruisers II), Lauren Alexandra (Looper), Gayle James (Time Eva), Rachel Whittle (Shark Island), Amy Wickenheiser (The Outsider), and Brigette Rose, The Shelter follows a homeless man who has chosen the wrong place to rest.
Produced by Fallon and Donny Broussard, and executive produced by Bruise Productions and JoBlo Movie Productions, The Shelter features special effects by Thomas Wilson, who also worked on films such as The Conjuring and Insidious.
In the film Tomas Jacobs (Pare), a homeless man and widower, finds a place to rest for the night when he discovers an empty two-story house with an open door. Thinking he’s had a lucky break, he enters the home, but soon realizes that he was very wrong. The house will not let him leave, the doors are locked and the windows can not be opened or broken. Can he survive the ordeal?
The Shelter will open in theaters in the US and Canada this Fall.
