Last we heard Underworld: Blood Wars was set to be released this October. Screen Gems and Lake Shore Entertainment have now announced that the release will be delayed until January.
Kate Beckinsale is returning to her role as the vampire Selene. Theo James will once again play David, Selene’s ally and the vampire Elder Thomas will be played by Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance, once again. Tobias Menzies (Outlander) will be playing a new character, a formidable Lycan. Other new cast members include Bradley James (Damien), James Faulkner (Game of Thrones), Peter Andersson (The Vatican Tapes) and newcomer Clementine Nicholson.

Anna Foerster is in the director’s chair for the fifth installment of the franchise. Foerster has directed several television shows including Outlander and Criminal Minds, but is most recognized for her talent as a cinematographer for films such as Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, Pitch Black and White House Down.
Underworld: Blood Wars has already wrapped filming, which took place in Prague, and will open in theaters nationwide on January 6, 2017.
