Horror fans were excited to learn back in April that a fourth film in the Insidious franchise is in the works. Back in May we reported that Insidious: Chapter 4 had received its 2017 release date. Now, the film has officially found its star.
Josh Stewart, best known for his roles in The Collector, The Collection, and The Neighbor, has signed on to play the lead character in Chapter 4.
Directed by Adam Robitel and scripted by Leigh Whannell, Chapter 4 will see Lin Shaye return as the psychic Elise Rainer. Genre genius James Wan will be producing. Whannell and Wan are also teaming up for Saw: Legacy. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Steven Schneider and Chris Laton serve as executive producers.
In the last installment of Insidious, a prequel, we witnessed the haunting of the Lambert family. Elise reluctantly agrees to use her gift to help a teenage girl who had become the focus of a dark entity.
At this time, the plot has not been made public, but we hope to hear more soon. In the mean time, here’s the trailer for Insidious 3 to refresh your memory.
