Odds are you have probably heard of the film The House at the End of Time. It is Venezuela’s highest grossing horror film of all time. Well, I guess not even Venezuela is immune to one Hollywood’s latest addiction, remakes.
New Line has picked up the rights to make an American remake. New Line has delivered several big hits recently, including Lights Out and The Conjuring 2. The original film was written, directed, produced and edited by Alejandro Hidalgo who will helm the new version. Henry Gayden (Earth to Echo) is in talks to pen the new script.
The House at the End of Time centers on Dulce, a mother, who returns to her old home where a terrible tragedy took place 30 years before so that she can decipher the mystery that has tormented her for so long.
Chris Bender (A History of Violence) and Jake Weiner (Zombeavers) will co-produce under the banner of their newly created company, Good Fear Film. Andres and Barbara Muschietti, who are currently attached to the IT remake, will also co-produce, Variety reports.
