
Recently, horror series have become a huge trend. One of the latest film to television adaptions is based on the 2004 novel ‘Let the Right One In‘ by John Ajvide Lindqvist which was made into a film in 2008, followed by a U.S. remake in 2010 by the same name.
Jeff Davis, the creator of ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘Teen Wolf’ is now developing ‘Let the Right One In’ television series for TNT. Euros Lyn (Doctor Who) has signed on to direct the series pilot which he also penned, according to Deadline.
The story follows a young boy, tormented and bullied, who finds solace in a friendship with female vampire that appears to be his age. As the vampire settles into the boy’s town with her mysterious caretaker, a series of murders begin to attract the attention of law enforcement officials.
The lead role of Eli,the young vampire, has already been cast. Model-turned-actress Kristine Froseth. Froseth previously stared in ‘Prey’ and the series ‘Junior’. She also co-starred in ‘Rebel in the Rye’ set to be released in 2017. No other cast members have been announced at this point.
Davis will also serve as executive producer alongside Marty Adelstein (Prison Break, Teen Wolf), Becky Clements (Aquarius) of Tomorrow Studios, and Simon Oakes (Women in Black) of Hammer Films. Alex Brunner (Dark Places) and Carl Molinder will co-produce.
