We reported earlier this week that there was a problem with the new ‘Tales From the Crypt’ series and that it might be dead. Bloody-Disgusting posted an update that revealed that the series is currently in limbo due to some issues with the right to the revamped series. The update came from TNT themselves.
The underlying rights to this classic, vintage property are complicated. TNT and others have been pursuing a solution for more than a year, with significant progress being made. We look forward to the potential for further active development of this valuable franchise once the clearance process is fully resolved.”
The anthology series under the direction of M. Night Shyamalan – meant to be part of TNT’s new horror block along with the new series ‘Time of Death’ and ‘Creatures‘ – got the green light back earlier this year. The series plans on making a few changes, including replacing “The Crypt Keeper’ with a new host, due to an issue with the rights.
