If the Addams Family sat down to a meal, it wouldn’t surprise me to find Tye Lombardi in the kitchen, cooking up “Finger Foods”, “Spinach and Garlic Pupae on Fungus”, “Oozing Popping Sweet Cherry Zombie Mouse Brains’, and ‘Turkey with an Alien Chestbuster’. Sounds delicious, right?
Lombardi, the chef behind ‘The Necro Nom-Nom-Nomicon’ shares recipes that aren’t for the faint of heart, but are a lot more normal than they might appear. Some recipes call for food disguised as something we are not accustomed to, some call for more exotic ingredients and some include the use of creepy crawlies. I know what you’re thinking, bugs, yuck! The truth is, they are actually pretty tasty (I know from experience) and they are even good for you. You just have to make sure your eating the right kind, luckily all of those details are included in her recipes.
Tye Lombardi has spent her entire life working on scaring people, and for the past 15 years she has managed to turn that love into a successful full time career in Hollywood. With job titles ranging from Blood Slinger on Hatchet, Production Assistant on The Ring 2, Costume Designer on The Co-ed and the Zombie Stoner and Sharknado 3 and 5, and to most recently Staff Writer on the Syfy series Z Nation, Tye has immersed herself in the world of the dark and bloody and has taken particular pleasure in the tasks that require her to get hands on.During that time, she’s been called upon again and again to help supply disgustingly edible props and treats to help add gruesome reality to horror-centric themes. Most notable were a gelatin human heart as seen (and consumed) on Hansel vs. Gretel and a flayed human head meat platter which was served to the crew of the feature film Sex, Death and Bowling in celebration of an overnight shoot on Halloween.
Her unique twist on treats were on full display when she was brought in to help cater the final wrap party for season 2 of the television series Z Nation where she presented not only her flayed human head meat platter, but also jelly shot eyeballs and a zombie brain cake. Her Aliens inspired chest burster turkey as well as her Death by Chocolate cake have both gone viral and been featured on websites across the globe.Tye loves to put the ‘gore’ in ‘gourmet’ and believes that every recipe she makes should look disgusting but taste delicious. Tye’s annual Halloween dinner parties have grown in both scope and notoriety, resulting in rave reviews from friends and family alike (as well as a few turned stomachs and one complete walk-off from the table). Everything Tye makes is guaranteed to be disgustingly…delicious.”
It doesn’t matter if you’re cooking for fellow horror fans, preparing a feast for Halloween, or simply looking to push the envelope of your dinning experience with a something a little less common, you have to visit Tye Lombardi’s website, EatTheDead.com.
