We reported earlier this month that ‘Tremors VI’ had begun filming in Cape Town, South Africa. We told you that Michael Gross and Jamie Kennedy are returning to reprise their roles as father and son Graboid hunters. Today, we have great news for fans of the ‘Tremors’ franchise, we have the synopsis and it’s nothing like you have seen from the franchise before.
The Graboids have evolved throughout the ‘Tremors’ franchise. This time, they are going high-tech, they are being weaponized. Not only will Burt and Travis have a new threat to handle, they will be doing it in the snow, which is a first for the franchise.
“Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the artic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!”
Don Michael Paul returns to direct this installment, based on the script by ‘Tremors V’ writer John Whelpley. Only three other cast members have officially been announced so far, Tanya van Graan (Death Race: Inferno), Rob van Vuuren (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), and Greg Kriek (Blood and Glory).
‘Tremors VI’ will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD some time next year from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a branch of Universal Pictures, Bloody-Disgusting reports. We will update you when we know more.
