Fans fell hard for the charming, quirky, and gore filled series Santa Clarita Diet, starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. Luckily, today Netflix officially announced that the hit horror-comedy will be getting a second season.
In season one, Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore), husband and wife realtors, are leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenaged daughter Abby (Liv Hewson), until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way.
Showrunner Victor Fresco (My Name is Earl) serves as executive producer along with Barrymore, Aaron Kaplan, Timothy Olyphant, Tracy Katsky, Ember Trusdell and Chris Miller.
The new twist on the zombie genre is a breath of fresh air. Season one left fans begging for more and Netflix has granted their wish. Season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet will premiere sometime in 2018. We’ll keep you posted.
