We have some fantastic news, two of the genre’s most influential filmmakers, James Wan and Alexandre Aja, are teaming up for a new thriller from Lionsgate, titled Smart House. Wan will be producing under his Atomic Monster banner. Aja will direct from the script written by Brad Keene, based on an idea by Wan.
Smart House centers on a family in the witness protection program who are placed in the custody of a state of the art, autonomous “smart house”. When a group of assassins locate the family, the house goes into a lethal defense mode.
Wan has directed an impressive list of films including Saw, Insidious 1 and 2, The Conjuring 1 and 2, and most recently, Aquaman starring Jason Momoa. Wan’s company Atomic Monster has produced many genre hits, such as Lights Out, Annabelle, Annabelle 2 and the upcoming Conjuring spin-off The Nun.
