Scream Queens has had a killer good time over the past two seasons, but there will not be a third season. Fox has axed the show from producers Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Fulchuk. The reason, the ratings. The series only brought in an average of 2.3 million viewers this season.
Scream Queens was set on a college campus in season one, where a sorority was stalked by killers dressed as red devils. The second season, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Taylor Lautner, and John Stamos, was set in a hospital.
During a conference call this morning, Fox executives had this to say:
Scream Queens was an anthological series,” Gary Newman Fox said. “Ryan told the story of a group of characters he created over the course of two seasons. It feels as if it was a complete story, we have no plans at this point to go back there and tell more stories. We won’t be seeing Scream Queens this season.”
Scream Queens joins Fox’s canceled list along with Sleepy Hollow and Rosewood, EW reports.
Rest In Peace Scream Queens…
