Earlier this year, Blumhouse Television in conjunction with ITV Studios and Universal announced that a Purge television series is in the works. More details have now surfaced.
The series, which will air on both Syfy and USA, will premiere in 2018 along with the next Purge sequel. Jason Blum dropped more details, Deadline reports. According to Blum the series will open up “an entirely new chapter in America’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness” and will “reveal to the fans what happens the other 364 day of the year and how that law affects people.”
The franchise’s creator James DeMonaco will be writing and directing the series as well as serving as executive producer along with Sebastien K. Lemercier and Platinum Dunes.
