Is ‘The Mummy’ As Bad As Everyone Says?

Yes. Yes it is. ………But I think its worth watching anyway, as a lesson in how not to make a horror movie, if nothing else. Studio horror rightfully gets a lot of shit, and The Mummy might just be the perfect example of a production studio that doesn’t have a fucking clue what horror fans want. But what this disaster-piece really does is show how little faith studios have in horror at all. Despite films like The Conjuring grossing over $300 Million dollars, film producers still don’t believe horror has the drawing power that more traditional Blockbuster and action films do. So rather than anything close to a horror movie, The Mummy is instead a big budget Tom Cruise action film, the start of a cinematic universe no less (on a related note, has anyone outside of Marvel even come close to a halfway watchable cinematic universe?) Carry On My ‘Wayward Daughters’ – A Supernatural Spin-Off Is On Its Way

Supernatural fans, brace yourselves. We have some exciting news! The CW is moving forward with a Supernatural spin-off! The premiere for the new series, titled Wayward Daughters, will air as a backdoor pilot during Supernatural’s 13th season which begins October 21, 2017, Deadline is reporting. The series will center on Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) and a group of orphan daughters in her care. The Sheriff will train and teach the young women as an elite team of hunters. In addition, Wayward Daughters will feature other characters from Supernatural, leaving the door open for a crossover episode. The series is being brought to life thanks to a fan campaign of those who spoke out about the short lives of female characters on Supernatural. The idea originally was to create a show where Mills and Donna create a school for young women, but that didn’t work out. As soon as more details are released we will let you know.

Danny Trejo Is ‘Dead Again In Tombstone’ – Coming To DVD This September

2013’s ‘Dead in Tombstone’, directed by Roel Reiné, centered on a small town over run by a murdering gang of thugs led by Guerrero de la Cruz, played by Danny Trejo. After Guerrero finds himself in hell, confronted by Satan himself, he strikes a deal to deliver Satan six souls in return for his freedom. Now, we are traveling back to Tombstone, for the sequel, titled ‘Dead Again in Tombstone’ and we have the trailer. Trejo will return for part-two and will co-star alongside Jake Busey, Elysia Rotaru, Nathaniel Arcand, Dean McDermott, Peter Skagen, Dan McDougall, John Tierney, and Dave Burchill. Reiné co-wrote the script with Ethan Wiley, and will direct once more. Haunting New Trailer Arrives For Annabelle 2: Creation

From Lights Out Director David F. Sandberg, comes the next film in The Conjuring franchise, Annabelle: Creation. And today, we have the second trailer. The new trailer reveals more of the story and more terror. The film, produced by horror master James Wan, takes place several years after the tragic death of a dollmaker’s little girl. He and his wife “welcome into their home a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage. Sigourney Weaver Again Battles Otherworldly Menace In Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Rakka’

After Neill Blomkamp‘s failed attempt at adding a fifth installment to the ‘Alien’ franchise, the visionary sci-fi director announced the creation of his own film production company, Oats Studios. The first offering from the studio is the short ‘Rakka’, a gritty, post-apocalyptic alien invasion film set in the near future. The film opens somewhere in Texas, in the year 2020. From the outset, each frame absolutely oozes an ultra-bleak, dystopian atmosphere. The world as we know it is no more; in its place is a brutal hellscape in which nearly all of humanity (well, what’s left of it anyhow) is enslaved by a barbaric, if highly advanced species of reptilian extraterrestrials. New Documentary ‘FredHeads’ To Explore ‘The Nightmare On Elm Street’ Fandom

Horror documentaries are more popular than ever, and we couldn’t be happier. Not only is there documentaries on IT and horror icon Kane Hodder, known for wearing the Jason Voorhees mask, there is now one in the works for our favorite wisecracking, bladed-glove wearing, man of our dreams, Freddy Krueger, well, sort of. Titled FredHeads: A Documentary About Fandom, the upcoming documentary from Venn Pictures will explore how A Nightmare on Elm Street has changed the lives of it’s fans. “The documentary will follow 3 fans as they tell their story and what their journey in the Nightmare community has been; some as fans, others rising through popularity. We Now Possess The Trailer For The Demon Film ‘Black Creek’

Enter the woods in the first trailer for writer-director James Crow’s Black Creek, where demons cause a group of teens to commit the unthinkable. In the film, Mike and Heather go into the woods to spread their father’s ashes in his favorite spot. Staying at a remote cabin, they are joined by a group of friends for what is supposed to be a holiday. While there, a demon emits chaos by possessing the teens, forcing them to commit unspeakable acts. Black Creek stars Chris O’Flyng, Leah Patrick, Michael Copon, Kaylee Williams, Robert Lowe, Michael Hill, Rachel Vedder, Pierse Stevens, Brianna Shae, and Todd Clennon.
