‘The Conjuring 3’ Will Be Very Different From Its Predecessors

The Conjuring franchise is quickly becoming one of the biggest franchises in the genre. The number of spin-offs keeps multiplying including Annabelle and Annabelle 2: Creation, The Nun which has entered production, and a possible Crooked Man film in the works. Now, The Conjuring is getting a third film. During an interview with CinemaBlend, producer Peter Safran talks about the next installment that will continue to explore the supernatural and paranormal investigations by Ed and Loraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, and how The Conjuring 3 will be very different from its predecessors. There are some [cases] that maybe aren’t as well known, but they spent a fair bit of time researching and were part of [them]. Clearly, we can’t do another haunted house movie, right? We can’t do another supernatural possession in a house, with a family in peril. Right? So, it’s got to be something different than that, I think. There are a lot of

TNT’s ‘Tales From The Crypt’ Is Dead

Last year, we were excited to report that TNT was reviving Tales from the Crypt with M. Night Shyamalan at the helm. Soon after the show ran into a series of problems and was delayed do to rights issues. Now, news has come that the series is dead in the water. TNT president Kevin Reilly told Deadline that the series has been abandoned and that their focus has turned to Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi anthology series. That one got really caught up in a complete legal mess unfortunately with a very complicated underlying rights structure. We lost so much time, so I said,’Look, I’m not waiting around four years for this thing’. Maybe that will come back around but in the meantime, Ridley Scott had come up, who has so much creative enthusiasm.” Tales from the Crypt was meant to be part of TNT’s new horror block that includes the new series Time of Death and Creatures. Until it’s said

Two Sisters Struggle To Survive In The Trailer For ’12 Feet Deep’

With summer approaching, a lot of films feature settings like the beach, the ocean, or camps on a lake. 12 Feet Deep is going a different route, sort of. Formerly titled The Deep End, 12 Feet Deep aims a little closer to home, a swimming pool. Seems pretty safe right? In this true-life-inspired thriller, two sisters go for a swim and end up in fight for survival after they are trapped beneath the pool’s cover. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Matt Eskandari and co-written by Michael Hultguist, the film stars Saw’s Tobin Bell, Diane Farr, Nora-Jones Noone, Alexandra Park, Donald Prince, and Christian Kain Blackburn. Noone and Park star as sisters Bree and Jonna who get trapped beneath the fiberglass cover of an Olympic sized public pool after it closes for the holiday weekend. AMC Adapting Joe Hill’s ‘NOS4R2’ For A TV Series

Stephen King adaptions are everywhere these days (not that we’re complaining). King’s son, Joe Hill, has inherited his father’s talent. AMC has noticed and has put into development a TV series based on Hill’s third novel, NOS4A2 (Nosferatu). The New York Times bestseller, a supernatural thriller, centers on Victoria McQueen, a woman with a gift for finding things. She sets out on a mission to find a superhuman kidnapper and rescue his victims. According to The Wrap, AMC has begun a writers’ room for the series, part of AMC’s script-to-series model that appoints a group of writers to produce a “season bible” and write multiple episodes. After those are complete the network will decide if it wants to go ahead with the show. Jami O’Brien will serve as executive producer for the series which is a co-production of AMC Studios and Tornate.

‘Endemic’ Mixes Modern Zombies With Classic Roleplaying

Dungeons and Dragons is host to some of the most creative monsters in popular fiction, but one thing it’s never addressed is a full on apocalyptic epidemic. Or an Endemic as a new zombie themed RPG coins it. From creator and visionary Lance Yoshioka, Endemic is a dynamic table top role playing game, with zombie survival horror, combat systems, rules for zombification, and all the undead fun D&D Heads have ever wanted. Me and a few friends played a few rounds of Endemic together, and while it was a dense game to get into (the rulebook is 256 pages, with everything from Armor Durability to if a Snow Plow could outrun a zombie), we had a lot of fun. The thing that set Endemic apart for me was the focus on survival; unlike many traditional RPG’s, where your quests take you on hunts for treasure and glory, your only goal here is to not get your face bitten off, rather

A television adaption of Frank Miller’s iconic graphic novel series Sin City is being developed by TWC and Dimension. Glen Mazzara who has been involved with The Walking Dead, The Shield, and Damien will be serving as showrunner and writer for the series directed by Len Wiseman who produced the Underworld franchise. Stephen L’Heureux of Sin City: A Dame to Kill will produce along with Miller, Mazzara, Wiseman, and Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Millie Bobby Brown Auditioned For ‘Logan’ Before Landing ‘Stranger Things’ Role

Millie Bobby Brown, aka Eleven from Stranger Things and the kid who rapped “Monster” on Jimmy Fallon, had a huge year in 2016, landing worldwide fame and a starring role in the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters. But before she played a little girl with strange powers on Stranger Things, Brown auditioned for a different little girl with strange powers on Logan. X-23, who was eventually played to great effect by Daphne Keen, is a little badass with all the powers of Wolverine; healing factor, unbreakable bones, and of course most famously some vicious claws. While Brown kills a good handful of soldiers on Stranger Things, Eleven never shows half the viciousness of the throat slicing, eyeball gouging X-23. Keen was great in the role, but I can’t be alone and wondering what Brown would have brought to the role. Logan/Stranger Things cross over anyone? Probably not, but a man can dream.

DAYS OF THE DEAD Is Nearly Upon Us

June is here, and Days of the Dead is nearly upon us. IS nearly upon us? Yes my Little Monsters, I know it sounds grammatically incorrect, but it’s not…trust me. The reason why it is, in fact, correct is because I happen to be referring to a singular event, the annual horror convention that will be returning to Indianapolis at the end of June. Of course since it’s a three day event, I could refer to it in the plural form…but let’s not get hung up on semantics. Days of the Dead will officially kick off the weekend’s festivities at 5 PM Friday June 30th and run through Sunday July 2nd. As per usual, the fine folks at Days of the Dead will make it possible for fans to meet genre icons and mingle with fellow horror junkies. The banner above may whet your appetite with the likes of the creator of the Living Dead himself, George Romero, as well
