‘Amityville: The Awakening’ Delayed Yet Again

For what feels like the 50th time, Dimension Films’ has delayed Amityville: The Awakening AGAIN. While the film’s most recent release date was announced as June 30, 2017, this time no new date was given. Since its original release date back in January of 2016 the film has seen delays, been re-titled, re-edited, and re-cut numerous times. Earlier this week new footage from the film was unveiled and the international release date seems to still be moving forward, but at this point who knows if we will ever actually get to see the movie. The film follows Joan, a single Mother, and her three children, one who is very ill. They have relocated to a new town and a new home. Unaware of its history and reputation, the family moves into the Amityville house, where Butch DeFeo butchered his family all those years ago. Things quickly go from bad to worse when the family begins to experience intense paranormal phenomena.

Disney And Pixar Are Taking Us On A Trip To The Land Of The Dead In ‘Coco’

Disney and Pixar have teamed up for the animated feature Coco. The film, which draws inspiration from Dia de Muertos, the Day of the dead. While Coco is not technically a horror film, it will appeal to genre fans. The film is perfect to share with your children and to introduce them to the rich world and mythos of Dia de Muertos. In the film, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez), despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Alan Ritchson Talks Syfy’s ‘Blood Drive’ In An Interview

Alan Ritchson, who has appeared in series such as Blue Mountain State and films like The Wedding Ringer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is now starring in Syfy’s new series Blood Drive. Ritchson sat down with me to answer a few questions about the insane series and his role as Officer Arthur Bailey, the last good cop in a world that’s gone to hell. Syfy and Midnight Grindhouse have teamed up for this brutal, high-octane series, set in a near-dystopian future, 1999. Universal Studios Adds Exciting New Titles To Its Dark Universe

I am more than thrilled to be able to announce that Universal Studios has added more titles to their upcoming ‘Dark Universe’ collection. Through my life I have always been drawn to the truly tragic characters in horror…the monsters who were almost forced to become that way due to their situation – or were simply misunderstood. The top three on my monster/villain list are Frankenstein’s Monster, Quasimodo, and The Phantom of the Opera. In fact, I drew so many pictures and read so many stories about these three tragic characters that my parents legitimately started to worry. We already know that Javier Barden will be playing Frankenstein’s Monster, but I cannot hide my excitement at the announcement of ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ being added to the ground-breaking collection of redone horror films. Movie Review: ‘Gremlin’ Is A Film That Struggles To Get Outside Of The Box

When you give a loved one a gift it can come in all shapes and sizes, and in all manner of containers – like a box. Granted, when said box changes hands, almost everyone on the giving end hopes it won’t be re-gifted…except when it comes to this particular box. It’s a dilemma that Jimmy faces when he finds himself re-gifting this particular box to his mother, Mary. But this situation becomes somewhat more grave when he learns that his mother has guests: her granddaughter Julie Thatcher, her granddaughter’s husband Adam, and their two children, Anna and Charlie. Jimmy passes the box along to his mother with one simple caveat: she MUST give the box to someone she truly love sand the recipient must do the same, and so on down the line. Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Neve Campbell

Welcome back my Little Monsters. If it’s Wednesday, you all know it’s time to show a little love to one of our wonderful Women of Horror. This week’s lovely and talented lady, Neve Campbell, is a twofold scream queen…I shouldn’t have to explain what that means. Neve is a product of our neighbors to the north, having been born in Guelph, Ontario. One could say that the desire to perform was in her blood from the start. Her father was a high school drama teacher and her grandparents on both sides were involved in the theater. Neve’s first love was dance, and after seeing a performance of The Nutcracker at the age of six, she enrolled at Erinvale School of Dance to pursue her love of ballet. She would eventually study at the National Ballet School of Canada, where she would perform in Sleeping Beauty and the ballet that initially got her hooked, The Nutcracker. A First Look At The Werewolf Film ‘Fang’

The first teaser trailer for Adam R. Steigert’s gore-filled film Fang has arrived revealing a first glimpse at the werewolf who hunts a couple on the run. Production has begun on Fang, which promises a new take on the mythology of werewolves with plenty of gore. The film centers on a couple, Chloe (Melodie Roehrig) and Joe (Theo Maefs), who decide to hide out at a distant relative’s house, after a robbery gone wrong leads to a murder, only to find themselves stalked and hunted by creatures and forces unknown. Roehrig and Maefs stars alongside Melantha Blackthorne (She Kills), Jennie Russo, Michael O’Hear (Johnny Gruesome), and Jason John Beebe (Sharknado 2). Final Girls Berlin Film Festival Announces 2017 Lineup

Film festival fans out there have another event to look forward to with the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival, returning for it’s second year. The festival will take place in Berlin, Germany (duh) from the 9th to the 11th of June. The program will include three feature films, eight curated short blocks, a talk on the “horror hag” subgenre, a workshop on monstrous representations of the “other” in horror, and an art exhibition with five female artists working in horror. Whoo, now that we got that mouthful out of the way we can get to the big news; the festivals lineup has been announced, and its got some pretty big names.
