Disney and Pixar have teamed up for the animated feature Coco. The film, which draws inspiration from Dia de Muertos, the Day of the dead. While Coco is not technically a horror film, it will appeal to genre fans. The film is perfect to share with your children and to introduce them to the rich world and mythos of Dia de Muertos.

In the film, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez), despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (Gael García Bernal) and together, they set off on an journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
