‘Walking Dead’ actor Chandler Riggs has signed to star in Anthony Jerjen’s directorial debut film Inherit the Viper, Deadline reports.
Riggs will co-star alongside ‘Penny Dreadful’s’ Josh Hartnett, Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight), Margarita Levieva (The Deuce), Owen Teague (Bloodline), Dash Mihok (Ray Donavan), and Valarie Curry (American Pastoral).
Set in West Virginia, the film “follows siblings Kip (Hartnett), Josie (Levieva), and Boots (Teague) as they fight to escape the spiral of violence that has held them captive since their father’s passing. In these regions left behind by the economy, selling drugs has become their way of survival. A business that is hard to quit – at least not alive.”
After Riggs posted a tweet on November 30th that left ‘Walking Dead’ fans concerned. In the photo, Riggs was sporting a haircut very different than his signature look on the hit series. He went from long locks to a mullet. The caption said, “I’m doing this movie and they had to cut my hair a little…into a mullet. Gonna be stuffing it into a hat until I wrap on this movie.”

With ‘The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale airing this Sunday some fans may take it as a bad omen for his character Carl Grimes. But the cast often does other projects between filming breaks. Only a few days ago we reported that Riggs has found a new hobby, DJing, and has released his first song (you can read more about it here).
