Doug Jones, known for his roles in creatures in films like The Shape of Water and Hellboy, stars in Gehenna: Where Death Lives, the directorial debut of veteran visual effects artist Hiroshi Katagiri (Jurassic Park, Pacific Rim) following a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Jones plays a creature terrorizing five people who have come across a World War II-era bunker. The group soon finds out that there is a fate worse than death.
Lance Henrikson, Evan Swan, Simon Phillips, and Justin Gordon also star. Spectral Motion, the team behind Jones’ makeup in both Hellboy and Looper, will be doing the film’s makeup effects, THR reports.
Gehenna: Where Death Lives will open in theaters and come to VOD on May 4, 2018, from Uncork’d Entertainment.
