This December bring home the frightening supernatural flick The Nun, both a spin-off and a prequel to The Conjuring II.
In the movie, “when a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in The Conjuring II, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.”
The Nun stars Oscar nominee Demian Bichir (“A Better Life”) as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga (TV’s “American Horror Story”) as Sister Irene, Charlotte Hope (TV’s “Game of Thrones”) as the abbey’s Sister Victoria and Ingrid Bisu (“Toni Erdmann”) as Sister Oana, Jonas Bloquet (Elle) as local villager Frenchie. Bonnie Aarons reprises her Conjuring II role as the terrifying nun.
Corin Hardy directed from the screenplay written by masters of horror James Wan and Gary Dauberman. Wan and Peter Safran are producing with Dauberman and Todd Williams serving as executive producers.
The Nun brought in an impressive $362 million at box offices, $40 million more than any other movie in The Conjuring universe, which already has three more films in the works, The Conjuring III, Annabelle III, and The Crooked Man.
